As part of our final project we need to complete these areas. Feel free to add your thoughts and comments. I will submit the information as part of the final requirement for our project.

  • Identified design fundamentals
    • Storyboards were created to give the overall look and feel for the final video
      • Shows the order (navigation) in which shots were to be presented and edited
      • Shows the transitions and sound effects which were to be used in the final editing of the video
      • Gives a brief written script and description of actions taking place in video production
    • Color scheme was researched and decided upon for "overall look" of video
  • Explanation of how color theory was considered
    • Colors, their meanings, and appropriate combinations were researched through various resources. Complimentary colors are appealing to the eye, therefore blue, which is calming was chose for the shirt color, and orange, which provokes health and hunger was chosen for the plate color. The overall color and lighting for the video was to be bright and natural to aide in a bright, happy, and healthful atmosphere.
  • ADA standards met
    • Auditory and visual content used in the video
    • Captions were used to list ingredients for the waffles.
    • Captions were in colors that were bright on a darker background.
    • Font size was large for the captions.

  • Explanation of appropriate transition use
    • Transitions were used as needed to piece clips together. The video fades in as the actor begins the segment. Where segments were split, the clip fades out and in. A wipe was used at the point the waffle was cooking to illustrate the passing of time. A circle wipe was used in the final clip to show unity. The video fades out before the credits.

  • Tone created by light, framing and movement
    • Part of the writer’s focus was on the healthy focus of our product. While the video was being shot the videographer focused in on each of the products used during the shoot. The idea was to showcase the healthy alternative being used to create the product instead of the traditional ingredients. Lighting was difficult based on the fact that the videographer is not a professional and did not have or had the ability to obtain the necessary lighting tools. I spotlight was used to lighten up the actor and the food to keep everything bright and cheery. Keeping things light keeps the food products seem more appetizing. The videographer tried to keep the focus on the food but panned out occasionally to show the actor and to allow what the actor was saying to be emphasized.
